8 Elements of Media Arts with brief description of each element have been shared with the class and they were told to find pictures for each element. They were also instructed to explain how each element contributed in these images without lessons. Let's see where their prior knowledge is!
1. Light
Luca found a good example and explained beautifully how light has contributed to the success of this media product.
"Workers printed red background and image of bottle with FX in production. That red background will glare from Sun. When Night, It won't glare but workers installed light powerless. (save electricity bill, lol. ofc.)" - Luca JonesSally found two good examples of using light to promote successful Media Arts.
"The advertisement have special effect from photoshop to edit brighter shades below towers and buildings. The text "Reflect" is also from photoshop editing. In the reflection, I noticed the two tall towers that been broke down by evil men in airplane. " - Sally Sauve
"Photographer's ad may be taken at either sunsetting and before night. It's also been editing from shadow to look like security bars" - Sally Sauve
"100 centuries and years ago, people who workers cleaned out of dirty four semicircle of windows. They were very pure and bright shined because it`s powerful smell and nature" - Pratheepan Kanthashamy
Isabel found a great example of how Apple use bright light as their famous element of advertising:
"iPod Nano is advertising using brighter with background a white. There is simple ads and don't have to decorate because they want to focus on the iPod for emphasis. They never were using on background a black. There is very pure is brighter." - Isabel Lainez
2. Sound
Luca, again, found a good example of how no element of sound has been added in the poster but does give us the sense of sound anyway. Such a critical thinking skill, Luca!
"Do you think you hear real sound like Sound HD? If you have brought Directv HD, Eh? That photo make me think real, perfect, and real-life tv... Please see high-resolution photo source... Designer and photographer did thier jobs. Added smoke, firing, and more. It's Master skill using Photoshop and other 3D model software but there is no sound in ads poster..." - Luca Jones
3. Time
Elizabeth has picked a great example about TIME.
"Time: Polar bear was alone on ice and ice will melt. Picture shows time passing."- Elizabeth Jaremko
4. Point of View
Sadiha picked a good picture and
also gave a good description.
also gave a good description.
"I look closer to big stairs from escalator's raising to smallest top." - Sadiha Ghaosi
"The view points above of blue sky
and clouds as such it looks up to
the tallent and top office building."

Isabel found two images that indicated two different point of view:
"This is slightly low a little bit and
the people look up to a woman with
her basketball." - Isabel Lainez

"This is angle of view, look like we are bird look down.
He planning jump

Sally found a great example of performance. It shows the process of creation.
"The dove film "Onslaught" used raw footages, and commercials to put together. Raw footages and commercial include diet, weight, body image, make-up, plastic surgeries, and etc. There were really faster action to see all negative images on women in every second." - Sally Sauve
6. Framing
Sally found a nice example of framing defining the foreground and the background.
"The family of penguins is closer left of framing. Another side of framing (right) is dry, and unstable home for the family. Little wood houses with flag on the top is left framing and neither short and far distance." - Sally Sauve
7. Narrative
Pratheepan discovered an image that has a narrative element to it.
"...the story of line years for history as like ancient. The article explains each paragraphs.." - Pratheepan Kanthashamy

8. Editing
Elizabeth picked a good example to compare unedited and edited photo.
"First picture - natural no black frame.
Second picture - different colors have black frame." - Elizabeth Jaremko
Jennifer described how editing is done in this image:in this picture and also they changed the
picture to a little bright." - Jennifer Matti
